Even flowers have their dangers

Oh look it's 2015. How'd that happen?

New Years Eve was an excellent night. This was the first year I actually went downtown and stayed until my city's local ball drop.

It was a whirlwind of a night including such highlights as:
- Italian food
- Tiny cups of ice cream
- One of my friends getting so drunk that she puked and spent the rest of the night sleeping in my other friends bed
- A giant group of teens/young adults/people of my generation swarming around the christian protesters that make an appearance every year and arguing passionately with their leader
(it was amazing and involved one guy screaming "gay porn in the best porn")
- Me getting to wear my new jellie shoes out on the town
- Crashing on Skylar's couch whilst eating cookies and watching some NYC times square coverage

Then the ball dropped and we kissed our significant others while everyone cheered around us. Fireworks began going off several blocks down and lit up the sky. For the most part I couldn't feel my toes but that was okay because a lovely feeling of optimism and anticipation for the year to come was filling me up.

The group of us made our way out of the area to go locate the two friends who had gotten separated from us right before midnight. There were so many people trying to leave and who were coming from both directions that it got extremely claustrophobic in a small amount of time. Eventually the crowd thinned and everyone found each other.

Since New Years Eve, it's been pretty quiet. Today I took my boyfriend to go see Into The Woods with me again because I absolutely love that musical. If you haven't seen it please do that. The only other thing on my mind is that I have one day left before it's time to go back to school and I am not in any way prepared for that transition.

(the title is from 'I Know Things Now' from Into The Woods. It's one of three songs from that musical that have been circling around in my head for the past two hours)
